I Forgive...
Forgive: To let go of resentment. To pardon one's transgressions...
Forgiveness is the hardest thing in the world for us to do. Between forgiving ourselves, our best friend, parents or even God, its so difficult to let go of the resentment. Even some of us Christians, we cannot pardon anyone including ourselves for the mistakes made. Today, I challenge you to try your best to forgive everyone in your circle (or outside your circle) and ask for forgiveness if you have done something to hurt someone else. Its not always easy...sometimes the enemy makes it especially difficult to let go, as we use this as a crutch to keep us from getting closer to someone we think may hurt us again. The truth is that in life you will be hurt, there will be disappointment, people will say things that will offend you. The question is so what do you do now? Do you let it go on and on forever without resolution? Do you harbor it in your heart like unfired artillery missiles to remind the person of the harm they have done to you?
The word of God says in various passages to forgive so that you can 1) be forgiven 2) have your prayers answered and 3) so that you can be healed. I am not saying place yourself in a situation where you can be hurt repeatedly or abused. No way! Don't do it! But even if you have been hurt repeatedly and abused, let go of the resentment towards the abuser (forgive them). Today is a new day for me. I realized that some things in life are far more important than allowing the enemy to steal my joy, peace and love. 3
My declaration is this:
1. If I hurt anyone I ask for forgiveness...today! I may not even have known I did it but if so pardon me. I apologize.
2. I forgive myself for everything I ever did. I cannot change the things or choices I made in the past but by golly I intend to love myself anyway and try not to make the same mistake again. If I do then I won't beat myself up forever about it. Its not worth it!!!
3. I forgive anyone who I feel has offended me. You could be just like me and not even know you hurt me. Today is a new day and I am not going to remind you of what you did that I didn't like. I love you as I love myself.
Always remember forgiveness really isn't about anyone else but you. If I forgive someone I am the one that is free...So today be free as I am! Meditate on these scriptures and know that God has already forgiven you. I love you all...
Luke 17:3-
Pay attention and always be on your guard (looking out for one another). If your brother sins (missed the mark), solemnly tell him so and reprove him, and if he repents (feeling sorry for having sinned ), forgive him. (AMP)
Be gentle and forbearing with one another another and, if one has a difference (a grievance or complaint) against another, readily pardoning each other; even as the Lord has (freely) forgiven you, so must you also (forgive). Col. 3:13 (AMP)
Above all things have intense and unfailing love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins (forgives and disregards the offense of others). 1 Pet. 4:8 (AMP)
Love you all,
