What God Has Blessed Cannot Be Cursed

I've heard people that are so worried about what other people have to say about them. They are concerned about witchcraft being stronger than the Blood of Jesus. I wonder to myself what god are they serving? My God is strong and mighty in battle. Psalm 28:4 actually describes God in this way. The problem is that the devil has used intimidation to create a fear that he has more control and can do more than he really can to us. He has used the trap of lies to make it seem that he is capable of more than he actually is.  When God has decided to bless you, the devil cannot stop it or you! Once God has placed His stamp on your life the enemy cannot just waltz in and take it off. There are places and times when we give the devil a place or even allow him to take what is ours, but that can easily be remedied. When we submit to God and resist the devil, he has to flee. (James 4:7) If we completely and totally believe what the Word says then we can refute the lies. To be fair everyone is in...

You Deserve the Good Stuff

You must be willing to do what others won’t do, to have what others won’t have. — Les Brown      There is NOTHING wrong with wanting to live a good, healthy, and amazing faith filled life. YOU deserve the good stuff. You deserve to have an abundant life through Christ Jesus. So many times we are made to feel like if we want to have the goodness of the Lord and the blessings that come with Him that we want too much from God. I beg to differ. Jesus told the disciples in John 10:10 that His purpose when He came was to give life and it abundantly.       What does that life look like exactly? It looks like eating the good of the land when we are willing and obedient (Isaiah 1:19). It looks like prospering and being in health even as your soul prospers (2 John 2:2) . It looks like embracing those promises that are Yes and amen in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 1:20). It looks like conquering fear. It looks like overcoming bitterness and resentment. It looks lik...

Where’s the Application? (KWUA part 4)

These last few weeks I have broken down knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. It has been a series of concepts that are like tools to be used accordingly. This brings me to the last topic in the series - application. Knowing, understanding are wisdom nothing unless applied to one’s life. There are scriptures about all these things and they are to be intentionally.       I have found that it is easier to know something than it is to do something. Applying the truth of God’s Word to one’s life requires a willingness and obedience. 1 Samuel 15:22 says that obedience is better than sacrifice. King Saul was a perfect example of knowing, but failing to apply what he knew. God instructed him to destroy everything in a battle waged against some enemies. The problem was that when Saul got over there he decided to do what he wanted, which was to take the choice of animals, gold, silver and other spoils to keep for himself. God took issue with his disregard o...

Understanding brings Clarity (KWAU pt3)

And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures. Luke 24:45 New King James Version (NKJV)      Over the last 2 weeks, I have been writing to you about several topics. My first blog in the series was about Knowledge. We learned that,”The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7 (NKJV)” and how to know God is what is to love Him. Secondly, I wrote last week about Wisdom. We learned that wisdom is the principal thing and in all our getting we must garner understanding. (Proverbs 4:7 KJV) We went over how God blessed King Solomon because he sought the Lord for wisdom versus riches and long life. These are great lessons on God’s willingness to give us a deeper insight and the skills necessary to be able to navigate throughout our lives.       Why would I take understanding and separate it as a different topic completely? Well understanding means comprehension, clarity...
