Walking On the Water

I've been reading the Gospels. I think they are really the most life changing for me, in that they speak about Jesus. I get dreamy-eyed when I talk about Jesus, since it's by His grace and His mercy I am even here. One of my favorite passages is in Matt. 14:24-32 (Amp) I see so much of myself with the walking on water. I am Peter and I am asking Jesus to let me come out into the water if it is Him. The Lord bids me to come and I start out so good, walking and believing. Only when the wind starts to blow and life starts to happen, I start to sink. I cry out to the Lord and He responds in kind asking me why did I doubt Him. Why did I doubt what He said to me? Why did I doubt His promises given to me, no matter how long ago? It's so real to me because it's happening in my entire life. Lord, I hear you asking me why am I doubting and I am telling You that by Your strength I believe. The waves of life may crash up against me and the trials may blow like the wind, but I will...

Try One More Time

Try One More Time As I was reading Luke 5:4-8, this is the passage where Jesus was near the Sea of Galilee and was ministering the the multitudes, the Lord opened His Word to me. Jesus challeged Peter (a fisherman) and his brother to drop their net one more time, but deeper this time. They hesitated because they had been fishing all night. Just like me they took a double take in trying because of previous disappountment. I hear Him say to me, try one more time. Live one more time. Love one more time. Trust one more time. Open your heart one more time. Give one more time. Most of all BELIEVE in Me, one more time. I am just like Peter, I feel unworthy and fall at His feet. Again, like Peter, He calls me to my true purpose. I am going to push a little harder. I am going to pray a little longer and with more passion. Thank you Jesus because I am gonna try one more time, not only one more time but deeper this time.

Never Enough

This is part of a journal entry I wrote that I wanted to share. I pray it blesses you as it did me. Never Enough I digress...The revelation I really want to write about is my attitude towards God when it comes to His love being enough. I think in my life I have prided myself on the idea that I was going to be a good, obedient servant of the Lord so that God would love me or at least I could maintain His love for me. The thing is I learned John 3:16 like everyone else, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only be gotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but will have everlasting life." Heck, I know I am saved. That's not the issue. The issue was that I thought that God's love was like man's and that IF I did enough and lived a righteous enough life that the blessings of the Bible would be mine for the taking. If I tithed enough I would prosper in my finances. If I worked really hard at my job and doing it with integrity and honesty then...
