Painfully Honest

"I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies it produces many seeds." John 12:24

Being painfully honest, I recently lost some friends, but solidified some other relationships that have always been there. Being painfully honest, I buried those past relationships as I could not have move forward if I had not done so. I do miss those old ties, but I missed my life more. I want to live and since I want to live that means some things that will keep me bound have to die. I cannot fully enjoy all of my life without mourning the relationship, letting it go and burying it. I had to process all of this as a woman who loses her husband or a parent who loses a child. Friendship loss is just as painful (although we never talk about it in our culture) it can be overcome. We can definitely rebound. Anyway, God is a God of restoration so I know that although I have grieved and sometimes its still saddening to know that my friends are gone, I know that God is able to give me more than I could ever ask or think relationally. He has friends that are divine connections that await me. He has people that I have never even met that will appreciate all that I have to offer without trying to take advantage or take me for granted.

Some things are just seasonal and maybe this is my season to be by myself a bit. I know I am sociable but I need to make sure my focus isn't wrong. I need to make sure I am not getting caught up in things that will distract me from the purpose. That includes people. So as I am moving ahead my declaration is clear...be honest with myself and honest with others. Don't hold on to things that don't belong to you. Be ready to let go if you have to. Even if its hard love isn't always easy. God will give you the grace to do what you must.
