Lesson Learned - God Will Never Leave
First of all, it has been over 10 years since I have posted anything and in the time I have become such a different person. I wanted to say that life is about learning and growing. Circumstances in life can make someone bitter or better. I have gone through so much in the last 10-11 years. Some good and some things not so good. One take-away for me has been that you will repeat any lesson you don't grasp the first time. I have learned through these situations. They have tried me by fire. I don't always understand the reason why God has allowed me to experience the condtions that I thought would break me and even take me out. The truth is at the end of the day it is only His grace that I am still here. That is one of the greatest lessons that I have learned. Seond one is that, He will NEVER leave me nor forsake me.
When anyone who professes to know God goes through a rough season, we sometimes question why this would happen to us? Why would we experience so much hardship and pain? I am not by any means saying my pain is bigger than anyone else's. One commonality is that we will all encounter difficulties in this life. Many times, we are sold a bill of goods that say if we are a Christian we will never go through challenges. The truth is that these trials are what make and shape us into who we become. They shape our character. The best thing we can ever grab hold to is that when we walk through these occurences we have the Lord Jesus Christ to walk with us. We are not alone. He stands beside us and even carries us when we can't keep going. In several places God reassures us in the that He is still here. I like these 2 specifically:
Here in Deuteronomy 31:8 (NKJV) it says, "And the Lord, He is the one who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed."
Then again in Hebrews 13:5 (NIV) 5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
When I looked at certain seasons I had to recognize that I was never left alone. I was never abandoned. Hebrews 13:8 says it best, "Jesus is the same today, yesterday and for ever." (KJV) Even when I thought God didn't hear me and I couldn't hear His voice clearly, He was still present. He was and is still God. He was fighting for me specfically when I was unable to see it at the time. Everything that God does is perfect and complete so what I what I faced turned out for my good no matter what. "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose." -Romans 8:28 (NIV) That being said since I love and am called according to His purpose it is working out.
I want to leave this with you...the lessons I learned. No matter where you are, what season you are experiencing and how you feel right now - God is there. He has left you and you are not alone. Please get this down into your soul tonight or whenever you read the blog. You are His. He is faithful. You are important to Him. Everything you are going through will be a part of a greater testimony that will bring God the glory and a win that is undeniable.
